Hi there! Today I have a layout to share that I created for the February gallery at write.click.scrapbook. This month's theme was "Conversations." The little "word bubble" (or whatever they are called!!) pads of paper that came in the Studio Calico The Register add-on were screaming to be used on this page!! I wanted it to look a bit messy, so I only used a bit of adhesive and sewed the bubbles down. Some of them are starting to curl on the edges, but I'm okay...that's the "imperfect" look I was going or! This page also the Central High main kit!
Hope you had a great weekend!!

I have one final Gossamer Blue layout to share before the new kit goes live. I've been keeping this one under wraps until a certain special blog post appeared yesterday! ;) First, the layout...then then some news about an awesome opportunity!
This was a triple dip in terms of assignments. It was made with the January GB kit, featuring mostly My Mind's Eye products, and also for the January gallery at write.click.scrapbook, where the theme was "Note to Self"...hence the insane amount of journaling! What can I say...there was a lot I wanted to write to my former self! Anyway, because of the journaling, it's not a typical "em" layout, but the words make it a pretty special one. ;) Anyway...on to the exciting news! My Mind's Eye and Gossamer Blue are teaming up for a guest designer contest!
Check out My Mind's Eye or Gossamer Blue for more details! I can't wait to see all the entries! Happy Sunday!

I think I've mentioned it, but I hate the end of the month! First, there is a lull in productivity, as most of my layouts are due around this time. Second, I always end up with a ton of layouts finished that I love, but can't share for a few more days! ;) So, to make me feel better about it all...here are some sneaks of a few things I've made recently. All but the first use the upcoming Gossamer Blue kit...can't wait for this month's reveal!
and this last one is for write.click.scrapbook. :)
Happy *almost* Friday!! :)

This month's gallery theme at write.click.scrapbook was "favorite photos"/"photos that matter." I chose to create a layout with a photo that matters. It's not my favorite photo. In fact, it breaks my heart...but it was something I needed to do.
If you are a friend on Facebook or a personal friend, you know that at the beginning of this year we lost our dog Maddie to lymphoma. She was diagnosed three months before she died. We tried various types of chemo therapy, but nothing worked. We discovered at the end that her cancer was resistant to therapy. It was a horrible time for us. I probably cried every day for months. I still cry. She was six years old. Our baby. She was every bit a part of our family as our kids.
I blogged about it all (and sometimes still do) on my personal blog, but I don't talk that much about her out and about in the scrapbooking world. I know that there are a lot of people who just aren't "dog people." And I know there are a lot of people that have dogs but just don't have the same type of relationship with their dogs as I did with mine, so I don't want to bombard people who really don't understand or care with my feelings and sadness. That isn't meant to sound harsh...I truly don't expect people to understand...it's a very unique and personal thing.
All that being said, when this assignment came up, I knew immediately that it was time...time to make a layout about our sweet Maddie. I'd been putting it off...not wanting to deal with it. This picture was taken two days before she died. Her eyes are so sad. I wanted to make a layout that memorialized how amazing she was...not just how sad I am. So, this is it. I love the final result. I cried when I finished it and showed it to my husband. I may or may not be crying now as I type this. That's how much I miss her. That's how special she was...

Today is the first day of November. Crazy!! The first of the month is always exciting because it means a new gallery at write.click.scrapbook. This month's theme was "Favorite Colors." I was super excited to create a color layout...because color is my favorite part of scrapbooking! I love coming up with color schemes and putting together papers and embellishments. This layout uses my (current) favorite color scheme of orange, yellow, and aqua. I've been hoarding this Studio Calico Heyday paper for sometime now, and I'm so glad I finally had a good reason to use it! This was also the first layout I made with my Cameo! I haven't used it much...but I love it already! :)
Be sure to check out all my talented W.C.S. teammates in this month's gallery! Have a great Thursday!

Happy Saturday! We write.click.scrapbookers are all sharing a little sneak of our November layouts today! Here's my sneak. As you can see, I successfully used my Cameo last night! I think I'm going to like it... ;)
Be sure to check out the w.c.s. facebook page for links to other sneaks. See if you can guess what our November gallery theme is! And, in keeping with this secret theme I'm giving away Taxi Mr. Huey's mist. :) If you would like to be entered into the drawing, leave a comment on this post by Sunday night!
Have a great day!

Good Sunday morning! I have one final Gossamer Blue layout to share with you...the new LookBook comes out tomorrow!! So, if you've been a regular follower of my blog, you know that I'm pretty honest when sharing my work. Sometimes I like things...sometimes I don't. This layout, which was actually created for both the GB kit AND the October Gallery at write.click.scrapbook, kind of falls into the latter category. The gallery theme at W.C.S. this month was to create something inspired by Pinterest. I love, love, love this quilt that I've had pinned for awhile and wanted to make a layout based on it:
(source: She and Whim)
Well, the layout I made just doesn't really look like the gorgeous quilt inspired layout I had envisioned. I don't hate it...but it's definitely not one of my favorites. What I DO love about the layout is all the little bits of colorful, fun product from the Gossamer Blue October kit. I just don't think I executed the whole thing as well as I could have.
So there you have it - my no-holds-barred analysis of my scrapbooking...whether you wanted it or not! ;) Be sure to stop by and check out the work of my talented write.click.scrapbook teammates...this month was one of my favorite galleries ever!! And, I worked last night with the November GB kit...it's gorgeous, as usual! I can't wait to share some sneaks with you tomorrow! Stay tuned...
