20 Weeks

Hello!  I'm alive!  Sorry for not posting much lately...I've been busy working away with my (totally amazing) August Gossamer Blue kit and there isn't much to share on the old scrapbooking blog!! I do, however, have one last July kit layout that I hadn't posted. This was made with a bunch of the fun new Fancy Pants Designs new releases!

For the record...I am now 33.5 weeks and the baby belly is slightly out of control. ;)  Also, for anyone who is interested...there are just a couple more days to submit your entry into the Gossamer Blue/Fancy Pants Guest Designer Contest! Very cool!  I'm loving so much that Fancy Pants comes out with lately! This would be a great opportunity!!

Hope everyone is having a great summer! I can't believe I only have three weeks left...then it's back to work...then baby time!  :) 

Come on Get Crafty!

Happy Friday! I am so excited to be the featured guest today at Come On Get Crafty, which is a great new online store + inspiration blog!  Nicole, the sweet owner, sent me a bunch a great goodies to play with, and I created this layout documenting last summer when it was super hot:

Ring Toss

I have a new layout up on the Pebbles Blog today!  It's another Sketchy Thursday layout. I must admit, I have always been so afraid of sketches, but my last two Pebbles assignments were sketches, and I loved them both!  The funny thing about this layout is that I literally looked at the sketch one time before I started creating, and I was so surprised to see how similar my layout actually was to the sketch in the end!!  To see the original sketch and another designer's version of it, be sure to check out the post on the Pebbles Blog!

I Scream!

Good Monday Morning!  I have another page from my Elle's Studio Guest spot to share today!  This one uses mostly her new Saltwater line.  I love the gray in it!! Gray is a totaly underutilized color, in my opinion! ;)  I took these photos of my daughter earlier this spring when we stopped for ice cream. She was having a blast hamming it up for the camera!! ;)

I have been a bit MIA lately due to an epic purge going on at our house (of scrapbooking stuff and otherwise.) I will be back later this week with a big box sale of tons of goodies for super low prices!  At this point...I just want to get rid of it all!!  Look for it soon! Have a great day!

A Mother's Day Layout

Last Friday I had a Mother's Day themed layout up on the Pebbles blog. It's funny, rarely do I get an idea in my head and then follow it through almost exactly to the end...but that's what I did this time. I envisioned a quilt of photos with a giant heart on top.  While there were some minor changes (title changed, and I ended up creating a mat for the quilt to just add a little more color), it pretty much looks the way I thought it would!!  I must admit, it's one of my favorite layouts I've made in awhile!

Beach Babies

My "Pinspired with Gossamer Blue" post went up on the GB blog yesterday!  I admit...I got a little wild and crazy with this layout. It's a bit reminiscent of some of the layouts I used to make years ago! ;)  Here is my inspiration piece:

I used my Cameo to cut all the waves and just kind of haphazardly layered them. I used a pen to outline everything to just make them all a bit more distinct.  For more info on the challenge, the layout, and the chance to win a gift certificate to Gossamer Blue, check out the post!

So yeah...crazy, huh?! ;) But, it's fun, and I like it. Making this layout made me think a lot about "style" and the fact that I don't really know that I have one definitive style.  I think I have a couple different styles...my "crazy, bright" style like this layout (and some of my Pebbles layouts fit into this category!) and then there's my more "modern/artsy" style with layers and misting and all that jazz. And then there are just some that don't fit into any category.  At times I wish I had a really recognizable style like some scrappers do, but ultimately I like that I feel like I have the freedom to create whatever I want and not be boxed into a single idea or look.  What about you? Do you have a distinct style? Do you wish you did? I'd love to hear some thoughts! :)  Have a great weekend!

Stillwater Date

Happy Monday!  This morning I have another Gossamer Blue May layout to share.  This was a layout that I threw together very quickly...and then added something...then added something else...then added something else! ;)  I hardly every scrapbook about things other than my kids anymore, so this was really fun for me, and I admittedly love the way it turned out!  It is definitely my favorite  of the layouts I created this month!  The title was cut on my Cameo using the font "Always in my Heart," and all of the goodies come from both the main kit and the various add-ons.

Hello, FOUR!

Happy Monday!  Finally, I'm back with a new layout to share!  This one is up on the Pebbles Blog for Mix and Match Monday! :)  I am a sucker for monochromatic paper...and polka dots - both of which are featured on this layout!  The new "Rainbow" line from Amy Locurto is super cute and worked perfectly to draw together all my random colors. The yellow bag in the back is also from that same Amy Locurto line, the fun little scalloped border was cut with my Cameo, and I added a little twine and some gems from my stash!  Thanks for stopping by! Messy Fun

Happy Saturday!!!  I'm SO glad the weekend is here!!  Today I am sharing my last Gossamer Blue layout from this month!  This layout includes pictures from last summer when we made "sidewalk chalk paint" to use on the driveway!  It was super fun and easy to make, and as you can see from the photos, it was a ton of fun!

Hello Spring!

This is "Spring is in the Air" week on the Pebbles blog! I had a layout up on Monday that includes a lot of the new Basics and Party with Amy Locurto lines.  

I have to be honest - I created the first "version" of this layout a couple of weeks ago when I was at Archivers for a "work" night - "work" meaning I was there only because I had assignments to complete!  I made a layout using these pictures that can only be described as the ugliest layout I have ever made...seriously...it was that bad.  Had it just been for me, I probably would have left it and called it a night, but it really wasn't up to par for design team work, so I ripped it apart, revisited it a week later, and ended up with this, which is only about 100 times better. ;)    These pictures were from March 12th of last year...look the daffodils are all blooming.  Today it is April 3rd, and here is the status of my flowers:

They are almost blooming!  By tomorrow, I bet they'll all be open. Now if only it were warmer than 45 degrees... ;)
