Birthday Boy {October Afternoon Layout}

Continuing with my alphabetical catch-up...another B layout. This one is old. REALLY old. I can't believe I never shared this here!!! This was one of the very first layouts I made when I was added to the October Afternoon team last year!  It's hard for me to believe that in a couple of months this little guy will be celebrating another birthday!!  

Another technique I love is color on color - which I did in each segment here!

Meet Jolly {Elle's Studio Celebrate December}

Yes, I realize it's like WAY past December, but this is another one of my never-shared layouts from last month when I was a guest at Elle's Studio. ;)  I had such a blast creating with all the gorgeous winter product that Elle sent my way. The little snowman on this layout caught my eye immediately, and I knew I *had* to use it on a layout!  The snowman journaling card was perfect, too!  I love how they both are wintery without being obnoxiously themey!!

By my count, there are at least three more layouts from 2014 that I have yet to share. It's funny - at one point I don't think I had enough scrapbooking projects to sustain this blog, now it appears I have too many! ;)  Have a great night - yes it is 11 pm at this moment. Whatever works, right? ;)

Oh hey, Santa {Fancy Pants}

Yesterday was the first Social Saturday of the year on the Fancy Pants blog!  I have been itching to use the adorable Oh, Dear collection for the last couple of months, and I finally had a chance with this hysterical photo of my kids attempting to visit Santa!  I used my die cutting machine to cut out the title. I wanted there to be a stark contrast between the "oh hey" and the "Santa" fonts.  I used my 6x6 paper pad and backed the Santa letters with a mix of papers.  As much as I love the fun, multicolored patterns in this collection, I decided to use only monochromatic papers. I think my favorite part of this layout is my little play on words on the library card.  My daughter was very confused as to why I wrote, "Ho Ho No!" instead of "Ho Ho Ho." She's five. I'm sure the rest of you get it. ;)

XO, I love you so! {Gossamer Blue January}

January first = a brand new month of Gossamer Blue goodness! Today I am sharing my Main Kit Only layout. I had a title picked out and planned on using the little X and O shapes before I even chose a photo! I decided to really go all out with my XO theme and used my Cameo to cut out a bunch of random XOs all over my page and layered my cardstock over another piece of white cardstock for a white on white effect.  

 

My friend Mel Blackburn rocks the triangle corners...I totally stole this from her. ;)

 Have a great Saturday! I can't believe tomorrow is the last day of Winter Break! I have really enjoyed having my family all together...we don't get to do it often enough. :)

Hello, Snow {Gossamer Blue Pinspired}

Hi there!  Happy Monday!  I'm starting to freak out a little bit that Christmas is NEXT week.  I am very behind on gift buying and card sending and cookie baking and, well, everything! Not to mention, it's the end of the month, so I have lots of scrapping to get done in the next week!  Friday, my "Pinspired" layout was up on the Gossamer Blue blog.  I used the fun new Get Happy collection this month. I love how fun and non-traditional this collection is! There are also a few elements from the On My Desk collection...I love how they work so well together!

First {October Afternoon}

Hello! Happy Thursday. All day yesterday I thought it was going to be Friday today.  I'm pretty sad that it's not. ;)  I had a layout up on the October Afternoon blog on Tuesday using their new December Story kit. This kit is intended to be a December Daily type kit, but since I am not a December Dailying type of girl, I just went ahead and made a layout...because all I ever do is make layouts. ;) The kit comes with some pretty adorable 6x8 paper...which is obviously just a tad too small for a layout, so instead I did a little blocking, and embellishing, and journaling. This is the result:

I really love this kit. A lot.  Although I tend to love everything that OA comes up with. :)  It's got the perfect mix of everything - the doily, the flair, the little labels, the buttons.  It's like they made this for me...except that darn 6x8 paper!  Are you doing December Daily?  I love the idea, but I know I would never finish it. Let's not talk about my two failed Project Life attempts... ;)  Have a great day!

STL {Fancy Pants}

Hello, hello! Pardon my lack of blogging lately. Mac is still off in Oregon where B.J. the superhero computer genius is working to get everything saved and working. Today I have a layout made for the Fancy Pants Social Media Team! This layout includes many fun products from the True Friend collection, which is fitting since this layout features photos of trip my good friend Cindy and I took to St. Louis!  

I love the look of little photos on a layout. I don't know I why I don't use it more often! (Beware...now I will go and make like six layouts with little photos, ha!) I don't have any close-ups of this one right now...maybe when Mac returns home I will add some. It's all pretty self-explanatory, though. ;)  I hope it was a good Tuesday!

Here Fishy... {Cocoa Daisy Guest Designer}

Hello!  I can't believe October is over next week! I feel like it just began. I realized I still have a lot of layouts to share here on the blog, so I better get cracking before I have another entire month's worth of projects!!  Today I want to share another layout I made as the October guest designer at Cocoa Daisy.  This layout prominently features one of the really cool exclusive cut files. I ended up using one of the designs and modifying it by rotating it and changing it's size to create this design.  I used a bunch of the fun exclusive patterned papers behind each cut out, and finally, I used those adorable wooden dots in the center of each.  I used the blue and yellow color scheme to mimic the colors in my son's shirt and life jacket.

The "doodles" on the page are actually Teresa Collins vellum stickers!  And those super cute alphas are from Evalicious.  This was a super fun layout to create, and I love the final result!

Gossamer Blue October Inspiration Blog Hop

Hello, hello, and welcome to our first ever Gossamer Blue Inspiration Blog Hop! Have you noticed that in the world of kit clubs it's always go, go, go and often before you've even received your kit in the mail there are is already buzz about the next kit? It can be frustrating. We at Gossamer Blue want you to know that we feel your pain and are here with some October inspiration for those of you who are currently in knee-deep into your October kit! Today, I have a layout to share that I created using a mix of the main scrapbooking kit and the scrapbooking add-ons:

I am totally in love with the color scheme of the October kits. The mint green + the coral + the b&w...perfection!  This layout includes a little blue, too...since both of my kids were wearing blue in the photos I thought I should try to find a way to work it in!  

I am big fan of the exclusive wood veneer that came with this month's kits. Wood veneer can be pretty hit or miss with me. Sometimes I love it...sometimes I'm just not in the mood. But this month...I was loving it. ;)

I was having a difficult time coming up for a clever title for this layout, and I ended up with the oh-so-original "At the Zoo." Because it was kind of a silly title, I went with the tone-on-tone look so it didn't stand out. ;) I tried using the triangle banners AS banners on my page, and it just wasn't working, so instead I just used them as random decorations amongst my mist!

Happy Saturday!  Today is the second Fancy Pants Social Media Round-Up on the FP blog!  Our team has been hard at work all month working with these fun projects!  This is a layout I made using a mix of different Fancy Pants lines:

 

It kinds of looks like a Halloween layout - but that was totally unintentional! ;)  I might have to pull out these same supplies in a few weeks to scrap!
