Spark {Gossamer Blue: On My Desk}

Happy Tuesday! On Friday some projects featuring the brand new {and totally fabulous} On My Desk line were up on the Gossamer Blue blog. This is a layout I made featuring the collection. There are so many gorgeous products - the papers are my favorite, the wood veneer, te die cuts and badges...it's all gorgeous.  The layout features what I'm sure will be a very popular Robin Williams quote.  It's perfect for these two crazies... ;)

Music Monday

It's almost 10 p.m., and I've listened to this song probably six times already tonight. I do that sometimes...get myself "into" a song and just listen to it until I'm sick of it. I'm a weirdo, yes. It comes with that whole "music teacher" territory. It's an older song, but one that I continually come back to as a favorite. Love that Ben Folds. It's about drugs. And God. And is sure to offend someone. But whatever. It's so great...the audience singing...perfection. I could listen to it all night. Oh wait... (song starts at :32)

PS: Music Monday is not a thing. I mean it probably is somewhere. But not here...big sigh of relief for those of you who thought I was hopping on yet another day of the week blogging bandwagon that I would inevitably fail at. ;)

Circus World {Fancy Pants Social Media Team}

Good Sunday morning! Yesterday was the first ever "Social Saturday" on the Fancy Pants blog!  All of the members of the new Social Media team had layouts and photographs featured!  This is one of the layouts I created this month for Fancy Pants!  I have to be honest...if you told me that I would one day put a clown on a layout, I would probably laugh in your face. We all know I'm not exactly the cutesy scrapbooker. BUT...when you *just* went to the circus, and you have in your possession an entire line dedicated to the circus, you start doing things that are maybe a bit outside the norm...and you end up liking them!! ;)    

 

I actually am really happy with the layout...clown and all! ;)  I also love that photo, which I snapped with my phone. We had severe storms all morning, but they were just clearing up as we arrived at the circus. We had a great time!

Five for Friday:

1. Thank you to the Internet for thinking of great ideas for me so I don't have to!  Ideas like our first ever Back to School Feast we held in the backyard on Tuesday night. While I'm sure my paper chains and hand cut crowns do not hold a candle to those of the many other crafty mom bloggers, we had fun, and that's really all that matters. ;)

2. Tomorrow marks two really important things...first the Badger Football home opener!!  We have season tickets and I cannot WAIT.  Football season is my favorite!  However, we are actually missing tomorrow's game for something even more important...the baby turns ONE?!?!  I'm not entirely how this is possible since he was only born about a month ago! 

3. I'm all over the internet this weekend...and thankfully not in a "embarrassing celebrity slip" kind of way. ;)  Today I have projects up on the Gossamer Blue Blog and the October Afternoon Blog. Tomorrow I have two projects up as part of the Fancy Pants Social Media Team!  I will share these layouts here in the next few days, but in case you just can't wait...click the links above. ;)

4. In the short time since my last Five for Friday post, I've actually read another book: Orphan Train by Christina Baker Kline.  I've officially read more in the past couple of months than I did the last two years combine. No lie.  So yeah...I dont know if I have really high standards, but this is another book I just didn't love.  I think the premis of the book is a good one, but I feel it could have been told better.  Her writing style wasnt my favorite, and I felt like the story was predictable and rushed in places. I'm still waiting for a book to WOW me. Any suggestions??

5. Last week we made "Cloud Dough" (thanks again, Internet, old buddy, old pal!).  It's the world's most simple recipe: 8 cups of flour + 1 cup of baby oil.  That's it.  My kids loved it.  Of course, it ended up all over the concrete patio, so make sure if you try this at home you do it outside!!! ;)  

 

 

Be You. {Gossamer Blue + Color Inspiration}

Hi there! Pardon my brief absence! We've been busy celebrating the first days of school and adjusting (not well) to our new schedule!!  Today I have a Gossamer Blue layout to share with you. Originally, I had planned on this being my Pinspired with Gossamer Blue layout for September, but I ended up changing my mind and making a different layout for that blog post.  This particular layout was inspired by the following collection of photos:

If you were to have told me a year ago that I would be in love with Pink and Gold, I would have probably laughed in your face. I've never been a big pink fan, and I've always preferred silver to gold. However, gold is suddenly back in fashion, and I'm kind of digging it! ;)  Here is my super simple layout that was inspired by the collage above:

That pink polka dot paper is my favorite paper in the entire kit + add-ons. I LOVE this paper. I kind of want to wallpaper something in this paper. ;)  

I also used the mini letters from Shimelle as "confetti" amongst my mist drops. Different...but kinda fun. ;)

 This layout took me probably a half hour to make, and I love it much more than the layouts that I worked on for hours. ;)  I love how that always seems to be the case!!  Hope you are having a great week!!

#selfie {Gossamer Blue September}

Happy September first!  I can't believe we are already in September! The last eight months have truly flown by!  This is a big week in our house.  We have a brand new Kindergartner, a brand new Preschooler, and a little boy celebrating his First Birthday!!!  Today I have my Gossamer Blue Main Kit only layout to share with you!  Truth be told, this is the second version of this layout. I had an entire layout completely made, but I hated it...so the night before our assignments were due, I ripped it apart and started fresh. I like this version a whole lot more than the original!!  

September is the first month with all the new Gossamer Blue design team members. I can honestly say I am blown away by the talent there. In fact, I feel pretty inferior!! ;)  I'm truly humbled to be a part of it all!  Be sure to go check out the gallery!  I hope everyone who celebrates Labor Day is enjoying day #3 of the weekend!!!  Have a great week!
