Celebrate Music Week at WCS

I am the blog hostess at write.click.scrapbook this week.  This is slightly terrifying to me!!  I am brand new there, and this is my first week ever as the host. I feel like I have a lot to prove! I am excited about the topic (music!!) which I chose based on this month's gallery...but nervous because...well, if you've read my  "real" blog you know that my writing style is very...um...ME. ;) And WCS is not exactly the place that I can write like ME!  I need to be a little more...professional. Less sentence fragments. Less ellipses... ;) Check it out and say hello!!

Weekend Snapshot

 Last weekend I took a ton of photos.  Project Life has made me rethink a lot of my photography habits. Lately, I find myself taking a lot more photos of random little things, rather than just the big moments that are "blog-able" or "scrapbook-able."  These are the photos of our day to day life...photos where the house is a mess, the kids are dirty, and things are far from perfect.  I am finding that these are the photos I cherish the most when I go back and look through my photos each week to choose ones for Project Life.  I made a layout for the Ormolu blog today featuring a bunch of the little photos from last weekend. As you have probably noticed, I am NOT a multi-photo scrapper, so this was a big challenge for me!!  But I really love the result. It's simple, but it gets my point across. ;)

Project Life Journaling Cards

hello! happy day after valentine's day! ;)

today i have a quick share of some project life journaling cards i made for the ormolu blog.  a couple of years ago i bought the becky higgins "project 365" kit, which was the predecessor to "project life." that was the year i had mirielle, and not much of anything got done that year! ;)  so i was left with a bunch of page protectors and journaling cards that i never used. unfortunately, the cards aren't the same exact size as the current project life cards/page protectors, but i don't mind.  i do mind the fact that the designs on the cards are very much NOT my style, and so i decided to jazz them up a bit with some ormolu products. here are the results:

ps: notice the lovely concrete backdrop! ;)  this is what happens when you don't get home until almost five o'clock and it's crazy dark and wintry!!  i'm sure my neighbors thought i was nuts!

an invitation...

Hello!  I am so excited to share today that I have been invited to be part of the team at Write.Click.Scrapbook.

This is a inpirational blog collective that began in 2009, and is still going strong today.  I am so excited to be a part of a group filled with such talented and respected scrapbookers. :)  This month's gallery theme was "music" which is perfect for me! :)  I created two layouts.  The first is one of those rare layouts that ends up looking even better in person than it did in my head!!  It's simply a playlist of songs (new and old) that I find myself listening to over and over again, hence the title:

The second fits into the more common catagory of those layouts which looked way better in my head than they do on paper! ;)  And, even though the finished product is not exactly what I had envisioned, I still love the story behind it!
